Mihaela Coandă is a young painter whose works are a translation of her personal dreamscapes. Utilizing oil and watercolor on materials like wood panel, linen, and jute canvas, her art brings together memories, fantasies, and ambiguous emotions. Her compositions often feature open windows, symbolizing passages between the known and unknown, inviting viewers into a space of exploration and discovery.

Hybrid beings frequently inhabit her pieces, blurring the lines between the traditional and unconventional, the real and the fantastical. Working from still life arrangements, she introduces bizarre objects or beings from her imagination, maintaining simplicity in form without overwhelming detail. Despite their solitude, her works are inviting, thanks to their unnaturally warm tones. Her Organic watercolor series, inspired by Luigi Serafini’s Codex Seraphinianus, documents a fictional world that unfolds through active imagination.
